Not really bavarian sugar cookies, but good enough."Sometimes, when we lose ourselves in fear and despair, in routine and constancy, in hopelessness and tragedy, we can thank God for bavarian sugar cookies. And fortunately, when there aren't any cookies we can still find reassurance and a familiar hand on our skin. Or a kind and loving gesture. Or a subtle encouragement. Or a loving embrace. Or an offer of comfort. Not to mention, hospital gurneys. And nose plugs. And uneaten Danish. And soft-spoken secrets. And Fender Stratocasters. And maybe, the occasional piece of fiction. And we must remember that all these things - the nuances, the anomalies, the subtleties - which we assume only accessorize our days are in fact bearing a much larger and nobler cause. They are here to save our lives."--- Stranger Than Fiction
This week's Currently comes a day late because of Internet connection fail in the Cruz residence last night. Also, did you guys feel that earthquake? I was in my room mulling about stuff when I felt my bed shake. I didn't really think much of it because my beauty stuff and books weren't toppling over, but, yeah, earthquakes are scary. I hope that was the last of it in a long, long time.
I'm also thankful the typhoon in Manila wasn't that destructive, but others weren't as lucky. You may drop donations at Route 196 if you want to lend a helping hand. You may check out RockEd's Twitter account for more details.
Here is this week's Currently!
CURRENTLY VOL. 42
READING
I just finished reading Zen Pencils by Gavin Aung Than this weekend. I also read more stories from the StrangeLit bundles and my favorites so far are The Last Night of Her Wake by Chrissie Peria, The 'Forget You' Brew by Tara Frejas, and Majesty by Jay E. Tria. I can't wait to read the rest! I wish I have more time but I'm always too tired when I get home that I only get to read on weekends. I'm also hoping to start with Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. So many books, so little time. *exaggerated sigh*
WRITING
A scene for my New Adult novella (yep, the continuation of Nate and Tanya's story) came to me in the shower yesterday and I was able to write more than 500 words on it! It was the first time I got excited about writing again after finishing A Sky of Wishes so I'm crossing my fingers the spark continues until I finish it!
LISTENING TO
Nate Ruess, again. Heh. He just calms me.
THINKING
Of how I will celebrate my birthday next year. Yesterday's weekly office powwow triggered this. After all, it's not every day a girl turns 30. ;)
FEELING
Sad but I'd rather not dwell on it, so I'm turning my non-smiles into smiles.
WANTING
More people to buy our book Incredible Truths, and that you guys can come support us at our book launch! (By the way, I'm giving away three copies of our ebook bundle here!)
NEEDING
A hair makeover. I AM SO EXCITED FOR MY APPOINTMENT WITH JURO SALON EXCLUSIF THIS FRIDAY!
WISHING
That everything will be okay. If not, well, there are always cookies and stories and Nate Ruess to be thankful for.
I hope that wherever you are, you are happy and loved. Take care of your hearts. ♥
