Today is the only day I got home before 8 PM since this week started (on Monday there was shopping, on Tuesday there was a buffet dinner, and on Wednesday there was a Godzilla movie-date with my friends) but oddly enough, this is the most tired I felt. Understandably so, as we had an afternoon cocktail event at The Peninsula for the launch of a luxury mattress brand. Needless to say, I'm exhausted and in dire need of a way to relax without it taking too much of my time.
Whenever I am stressed and need a quick pick-me-up, I unwind by reading a book, watching a movie, creating a craft project, or doing my nails. When I am feeling extra stressed, I go to a spa for a massage and a salon to have my nails done professionally.
If you're the same and you work in Makati's Central Business District, I have great news! Posh Nails has opened a branch near the area - in Perea Street, specifically - so it's now easy to drop by and have some little pampering done. I went there last Monday upon their publicist Miss Marcie's invitation because I knew I couldn't pass on a couple of hours' worth of pampering. Good thing it's just a ten-minute walk from our office!
I used to frequent the Posh Nails branch in Commonwealth because it was near my old apartment, but ever since I moved from Quezon City I haven't had a chance to visit again. Like other Posh Nails branches, the Perea branch looks so girly and feminine with lots of pink and purple touches. It was as if a mischievous girly fairy magicked the place into existence!
What's great about Posh Nails Perea is that the place is spacious enough for sparties! Whether it be a birthday celebration, a bridal shower, or a just-because party, there's enough room for you and your girl friends to chat and bond while being pampered.
The day's agenda was to have a Watermelon-themed mani-pedi service. Perfect for summer! Other themes include Lemon Twist and the one I tried before, Strawberries and Cream.
I just sat there in all my pink robed glory while two attendants worked on my hands and feet. I was given a scrub, a massage, and a mani-pedi that felt so relaxing and luxurious I didn't want to leave the couch long after my treatment was done.
Posh Nails offers an extensive collection of nail polish from brands like Zoya, O.P.I., China Glaze, Essie, Deborah Lippmann, Orly, and Cuccio. I had difficulties choosing which colors to paint my nails with because all the colors were just too lovely, but in the end I decided on Cuccio Parisienne Pastille on my fingernails and O.P.I. Love, Angel, Music, Baby on my toenails to match my outfit for this afternoon's high tea event.
I'll spare you a photo of my toes, but let it be said that I loved the color so much I want to buy a bottle of it for myself |
It's always nice seeing Miss Marcie! We go waaay back as she was my boss when I did my internship at Summit Media. |
Pampering places are godsend to stressed career-women - even more so when they're accessible! For yuppies in Makati looking for a place to de-stress, you may visit Posh Nails Perea located at the ground floor of Maripola Bldg in 109 Perea Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City. It's also very near Glorietta and Greenbelt. Just follow the big blue dot in this map:
This week has been ultra-exhausting so I can't wait to come back. I've been working so hard and I need to reward myself! Dear Posh Nails Perea, wait for me as I will be back soon. ^_^
