Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow

03 April 2014

I'm pausing all How I Met Your Mother, birthday, and party-talk for a moment to talk about one other thing I love: lipsticks. This is a review of the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow.

I've actually had it for quite a while now (I bought it at the same time as my Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink About It) but I only got to use it this week for fears of the color clashing with my red hair. Almost four months after dyeing it, it's not as vibrant anymore so I figured it is now safe to take my brighter-colored lipsticks out of storage.

The clear top portion of the cap makes it easier to know what color the lipstick you picked up is.

Cherries in the Snow is an intense watermelon pink with a slight hint of purple. This is not for the faint of heart; it's easy to be intimidated by colors as bright as this, but it's a lot of fun when you do manage to pull it off. You'll find that a single swipe of a rich-colored lipstick can instantly cheer you up and boost your confidence big time!

One light swipe on the left, two swipes on the right
Aren't those swatches insane? Here they are when worn on the lips.

I was scared it wouldn't suit my skin tone so I almost gave it away. Good thing I didn't because it's GORGEOUS!
I wore this look to an event I went to the other day. :)
I love that it's not too expensive, it's creamy, non-drying, and that it's crazily-pigmented! Long-lasting, too. I also find it cool that it has been a cult color since 1954 but I just don't like that it bleeds and feathers a little. Nevertheless, it's a great lipstick to add to my collection. Just make sure to do the swipe-blot-swipe technique to make it last longer.

Do you have a Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick, too? What color do you have?
