“That awkward moment when you finish watching a TV series and you don’t know what to do with your life any more.”
It took me a little more than six months, but I finally finished watching all ten seasons of FRIENDS. I was still very young and only cared for books when the show started, you see; I only began watching it when it's on the 9th season already.
I think everyone who has watched it has a favorite character, but I honestly can't decide who mine is. Unlike How I Met Your Mother where I decided early on that *I am such a Ted*, I'm going back and forth everyone in the group because I really can't pick — I love each one of them and their little quirks: nerdy Ross, funny Chandler, charming Joey, OC Monica, fabulous Rachel, and, in Mike's words, "wonderfully weird" Phoebe. I guess that's one of the reasons why FRIENDS is so widely accepted: at some point everyone has identified with each of the characters in one way or another!
The best thing I love about the show is how it has withstood the test of time and how it has become one of those modern classics that everyone will love going back to every once in a while. The jokes are still funny many years after the TV show first aired, and I really think it's great thatunlike Sex and the City that seemed like it dug its own grave what with the terrible second movie the producers didn't milk its popularity dry and instead left while they're still on top of their game. My least favorite part is the Joey-Rachel pairing, though.
So, yeah, I finally finished watching all ten seasons of FRIENDS. Now what? Time to get serious on my 40 Books and Most Number of Movies Watched for 2014 challenges, then.

And still wishing & hoping for a FRIENDS reunion in a movie. Though they already said that it is impossible but who knows.
ReplyDeleteHaha. You don't want the Joey-Rachel pairing? I like that, but kind of awkward, really. It showed the different side of Joey. But he's my fave character :D
ReplyDeleteDidn't like the Joey/Rachel pairing either. I felt it was forced. MONDLER was my ultimate favorite. Oh what I would give to know a person with Chandler Bing's sense of humor. Hehe!
ReplyDeleteThis is an unpopular opinion, but I'm okay with them not doing a reunion movie if it'll just result to something like what Sex and the City did. That was just sad. :/
ReplyDeleteFelt too pilit eh. But I love Joey and his facial expressions! :D
ReplyDeleteLOL I love Chandler. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the Joey-Rachel pairing either but it showed a romantic side of Joey that I really liked. After watching the final episode of FRIENDS, ang tagal ko naka move on! I think ganun din mararamdaman ko pag natapos na HIMYM
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to think about the end of HIMYM. :(
