What better place to realize you need to take another step to fitness than at a boho barefoot party?
Last Tuesday, we had a fun (very apt, as 'Sanuk' is actually the Thai word for fun!) event in Beyond Yoga to launch the new Sanuk Yoga Sling Sandals, and it was there that I made up my mind to finally act on my long-time dream to take up yoga classes.
Beyond Yoga is the only AntiGravity®-accredited studio in the country today. I would very much want to try this because "unlike traditional versions of yoga where practitioners are relegated to slow, steady floor work, AntiGravity® yoga has people hanging from cloth slings that reach down from the ceiling. Poses are done while relying on the sling to ease your body into them, allowing you to lean, swing, and even invert yourself on the way to exercise and relaxation."
Sanuk says that doing AntiGravity® yoga can be compared to wearing the Yoga Sling Sandals. Its soles are made from real yoga mats and I didn't exactly believe how comfortable wearing one is until I tried it on!
After a brief introduction to Sanuk and the Yoga Slings, instructors Cess and Rianna treated the audience to an AntiGravity® yoga demonstration while Diamonds by Rihanna plays in the background.
Eeep, there's me in the photo above, busy taking photos! (*≧▽≦)
Seriously though, I can't even describe to you how jealous I felt seeing how graceful they turned, twisted, and twirled using those aerial silks. I wish I know how to do that! The solution I came up with: my officemate/ friend Rica and I will take up yoga classes and when we're feeling confident already, we'll sign up for AntiGravity® yoga classes at Beyond Yoga! Problem solved!
But even though I haven't started with my classes yet, it's good that I can take that zen feeling with me everywhere I go (thus the title of this post) whenever I wear my Yoga Slings!
If sandals are not your thing and you'd prefer wedges or slippers, Sanuk also has those! Visit their Facebook page to see their other products.
Meanwhile, here are some photos with my beautiful friends 。◕‿◕。
I need to go back to fitness and step inside a gym once more. Taking yoga classes is just the first step. I can't wait! I might have to go to the mall tomorrow to get some workout clothes, though...

My first pair in Purple Zigzag ♥ |
A good pair of sandals is a lot like a yoga mat – soft enough to cushion your every step, but with enough resistance to make sure your feet aren’t strutting on a paper-thin sheet of rubber. A ridiculously awesome pair of sandals does exactly that while also keeping things fun, easygoing, and chic.It is so ridiculously soft and comfortable that I'm sure I will build a LOT of outfits around it. You have to try it to believe it! Pinky swear! I loved it so much that I got another pair in Black for my sister. Thank you, Sanuk!
