Three months.

13 November 2012

Today I celebrate my third month as a Social Media Marketer for Outsmark, the digital arm of ARC PR. In the short span of time I have spent here I have already learned a lot, but I know there are still a LOT more I need to know. Every day I am amazed.

This job couldn't have come at a better time; I have been feeling restless and unsatisfied in my old job and not even the hefty monthly bonus was enough to motivate me. Understandably so, as I feel I have overstayed there for more than five years. And so I left the comfort and security of my old high-paying job for a field that – although I am quite familiar with given that I am a Mass Communications graduate  admittedly intimidates me. I was batsh*t scared and terrified but after thinking it through, I decided to go for it. I know it is still very early to say, but I have no regrets. I love it here!

Team Outsmark, represent! Lauren, Kira, Far and me with our boss Jenny
Outsmark and ARC were complete except for our other boss, Vinnie, who was out of town when the photos were taken at our surprise birthday party for Jenny last month.
In a way, this blog paved the way for me to be employed by ARC. The first ever event of theirs that I attended was in March of last year, and since then they have always invited me to their launches and what-nots. I am not saying it is the only reason, but maybe it helped that they already knew me and what I can do when they needed someone to fill the SMM position. So kids, when writing, write well. Edit yourself while writing, and do a quick but thorough proof-reading before clicking the Publish button. I know you are writing "to express and not to impress", but why not express yourself in the right way? It even makes it easier for other people to understand what you're trying to express. Being lazy is not an excuse to not know the difference between your and you're, it and it's, and even their, there, and they're. ;)

My officemates and bosses are a fun bunch of dynamic, intelligent, passionate, and good-looking people and I couldn't be happier that I am part of this team. I am already looking forward to our Kris Kringle and Christmas party!

Oh hai, Marco drew this for me earlier.
Batgirl Krissy!
How are you? I hope life is treating you well.

PS: Can you help me improve this blog by voting at the poll found at the upper-right corner of this site? Thank you. ♥

  4. It's great for you that you have a job that you love. It's not something everyone is blessed to have. :)

"So kids, when writing, write well." That paragraph was very well said. As an engineering graduate (most students from engineering are criticized for incorrect grammar) but that doesn't stop me from trying my best at writing. :)
