It's the last day of November! Aside from today being a holiday to honor our hero Andres Bonifacio (double pay, yay!), this day is extra special for me not only because it is the last day of my 30-Day Blog Challenge, but because today is also Dane's birthday! (For a little background on our story, click here. That is if you haven't read it yet. ;))
As I have yet to meet anyone aside from Aian who wants to work on his/ her birthday (unless it is very, very necessary), Dane is on vacation leave from work today. But he still went to the office by lunch time and treated me, Mich and Watcher to Yellow Cab in UP - Ayala Technohub for lunch. :)
Birthday lunch :)
Mich and Watcher :)
It was a sumptuous lunch of Manhattan Meatlovers' Pizza and Spaghetti with Meatballs. I was so full! I love Yellow Cab :) I also gave Dane my gift to him. Here are photos of the shirt I got him yesterday from Team Manila:
left: black Love Manila shirt with red and white text and swirl patterns
right: Team Manila's logo at the right top side at the back
I am happy he loved it. :) I wanted a "for her" shirt for myself but it would be too cheesy if we show up at work wearing the same shirt! :D
After work Mich and I went to Sasha's house to welcome her back since she just came back from Singapore and Malaysia! She did not go to work for a week and I missed her! She gave me a pair of earrings from KL, yay for goodies! :)
We went home at about 6:30PM but we passed by Jollibee first to have dinner. We bonded over a dinner of Chicken Barbecue and Creamy Macaroni Soup and fun stories about love and friendship. I just love conversations with friends. :)
I love this photo of Mich and me :)
I am wearing a gray dress with a black spaghetti-strapped top underneath and black and white faux leopard fur ballet flats.
Aaaand since today is also the last day of my Blog Challenge, let me share with you some of the stuff I learned:
- "30 days create a habit", as per Ms Mariel. That is the premise of this challenge. I can really attest to that. Tomorrow is the first day of December but I have already thought of several topics I would want to blab about here in my blog in the days leading up to Christmas. :)
- Inspiration can be found anywhere. The world is teeming with possibilities! I spent the first few days of the challenge euphoric with all the stuff I wanted to write about in the coming days and I was happy every time I was able to translate my thoughts into posts.
- There will be good days, and there will be bad days. There were times that I sat for hours racking my brains for something to write about, especially if my day was not too interesting, and before I knew it, it was already way past my bed time! Looking back, some of my uninspired posts were written when half of my brain was already dozing off x_x
- I joined the challenge in the hopes of improving the quality of my writing. Did I succeed? That is for you to judge, but all I can say is that I have written one of my favorite blog posts of all time in this challenge. :)
All in all, it was a fun challenge, and I recommend it to everyone who might want to show their blog a little bit more lovin'! Want to do your own challenge? Read here to know more.
I really enjoyed this day. I love November, and I am looking forward to an even better December! :)

I was finally able to get a birthday gift for Dane! His birthday is tomorrow and I have been racking my brains, thinking what I can possibly get a guy who already has everything. My friends and officemates came up with very "creative" answers, but I don't think I will be giving him any of those in the near future :D
Today my housemate Asther and I went to TriNoma so she can help me look for a gift, and maybe do some shopping on the side.
housemates :)
I thought of giving him a shirt from Team Manila as he doesn't have one yet.
Team Manila, TriNoma
Team Manila is a local brand conceptualized by Filipino graphic designers whose merchandise's theme revolves around Pinoy pop culture. I am happy that local designers are getting more attention and support now more than ever. Pinoy pride at its finest. :)
They sell shirts for men and women, button pins, canvas bags, wallets, laptop sleeves, ID and cellphone holders, even lomo cameras! I love the interior of the store, and their designs are so cool! Just look at the recyclable plastic bag:
They made our National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal look modern and cool
I will post a photo of the shirt I got him tomorrow so it'll still be a surprise in case he gets to read this. In the meantime, let me share with you some of the stuff I got.
Clear umbrella and clear toolbox with pink handles from Japan Home Center and cheetah-print convertible headband/ scarf from Landmark
black boatneck tee and thin silver belt from Genevieve Gozum
I only got a few things. Quite surprising, yes? Umm, I am actually reining myself in because Christmas is coming! :D
I am excited for tomorrow! I hope he likes my gift. I mean, I agree it's not really creative as compared to one I would have made myself, but I love the design of the shirt I got for him! What about you, can you share memories of the best gift you ever got someone? :)

I went to my very good friend and officemate Mommy Terry's (all of us at the office is already used to calling her that. Ü) house today for the celebration of her daughter Stephenie's 11th birthday. I'm glad she liked my gift for her. I missed Mommy Terry so much! She is actually on a leave-of-absence from work because she is in the first trimester of a "difficult" pregnancy. She lost twin boys, David and Daniel, who were born prematurely last year so she - with the help of her doctors and family - is making sure that she gets all the care she needs while pregnant. Stephenie has been asking for a sibling for some time now so I am very happy that their prayers were answered again. I am praying and hoping that Mommy Terry's pregnancy goes well this time.
Mommy Terry says Steph is like a mini-me because whenever I tell her stories of my childhood she would quip that Steph has also done something similar, and vice versa. I also do see a bit of myself in her and it feels nice to know that I have made an impression on someone so young. I like Steph so much and hope that she will be as good mannered as she is right now when she blossoms to be a lady. Her parents did a very good job in raising her, and I hope I do the same to my future kids.
In the couple of years I have known her I have seen how close Mommy Terry is with her sisters and it is something I would want to emulate for me and my sister Kyla. Because of the thirteen years gap in our ages, our interests differ and sometimes it is difficult to find a common ground. But I do love her very much and miss her when I am here at the apartment. I guess I just have to exert a little bit more effort, yes? What do you and your siblings do for fun?
I treat Mommy Terry as the big sister I never had (as I am the eldest of three). She's just such a very good friend and she listened to me and understood back when no one else seemed to be able to. I am just so thankful I had the privilege to meet her and to be considered as her friend. I have said this before and would just want to reiterate, friends are the best!
This was sent to me via email three years ago and I remember being touched by it. Three years on and the message still holds true:
A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter. "Don't forget your Sisters," she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. "They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them. Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women...your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives too. You'll need other women. Women always do."
"What a funny piece of advice!", the young woman thought. "Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!" But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact with her Sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking about.
As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, Sisters are the mainstays of her life. After more than 50 years of living in this world, here is what I've learned:
THIS SAYS IT All-
Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT.........Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you.
A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you... Or come in and carry you out.
Girl friends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life! The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I.
When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still.
I hope you got inspired as well, and appreciate your Sisters a little bit more. Cheers to sisterhood!

I am still saddened by what happened and continuously pray for justice to be served, but we just have to trudge on and keep on moving forward. Right now I would really want to go back to my pink dreamland…
Honestly, I can’t think of anything to write about right now.. I feel spent and tired. I feel a bit upset because of something someone at the office did, but I don’t think the person knows that I was affected. How can some people be so insensitive? Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to readers from the US who might have stumbled on my blog! Enjoy shopping! :)
And since I can’t think of anything to write about, let me just share with you how my day went. Today is one of my favorite days of the month: payday! It is customary in our country that employees receive their salaries on the 15th and 30th of each month. Since it is a holiday on Monday, salary was released early. After work I gave myself some me-time and went to the mall to get some toiletries, a birthday gift for my officemate and very good friend Terry’s daughter Steph, and some stuff for thegirlinstiletto for our Blogger Gift Exchange organized by the lovely Mel.
I was able to get some stuff for my Christmas package (but I won’t be posting them yet, I want them to be a surprise ;)) and gifts for Steph:
A Hannah Montana magazine (please don’t tell her I don’t like Miley Cyrus) and a nifty notebook.
Toiletries for myself and then some
Facial masks, a bottle of Caress nail polish in Frosted Silver, and Fashion21 eyeliners in Aqua and Pearl
A beautiful satin tube top I got for only P299.75, what a steal!
Would you believe I got it from the tweens’ department? Our tweens are becoming more and more sexified! Thanks to you Miley Cyrus! Hah!
Books from BookSale:
Ugly Betty: The Book and Ella Enchanted
This has got to be my favorite find at a BookSale in my history of BookSale-ing. That is actually just the box. Inside is this:
Ugly Betty: The Book
It is like a mock copy of MODE, the fashion magazine published by Meade Publications. It is in glossy paper and smells just like a glossy magazine! I love it! And I love Ugly Betty! The show's hilarious and gives an inside view of what it's like to work in a publishing company :)
Each chapter is divided into “magazine sections” and features interviews with the cast and crew, basically it is about how the show is produced. I love behind-the-scenes books like this as much as I love special features of DVDs.
(My Internet's acting up, will post photos of what's inside the book tomorrow.)
So, that’s how my day went. Busy weekend ahead! Tomorrow I will attend the celebration of Steph’s birthday and on Sunday I will see Recks and she’ll help me look for a present for Dane who will celebrate his birthday on Monday! I’m stumped! Any ideas on what I can give him? x_x
My head throbs and I would really want to crawl into my bed and call it a night.. Sorry for today’s crappy post, I am not in the best of my spirits… Hope I get better soon :D
*This is my 27th of 30 posts for the 30-Day Blog Challenge.
I hail from the Philippines, and I am proud to say that we are famous all over the world for several reasons, some of which are as follows:
- The incomparable beauty of Mayon Volcano, Banawe Rice Terraces and Chocolate Hills.
- Filipinos were the first to overthrow a president and reclaim democracy by using the People Power in EDSA back in 1986.
- We supply doctors, engineers, nurses and other professionals worldwide. Where before we only export rice, dried mangoes and abaca abroad, now brain power and manpower have become our top exports; OFW remittances have paved the way for the economy to recover.
- We are a big pool of talent recognized worldwide. The Philippines is birthplace to Lea Salonga, Paeng Nepomuceno, Efren “Bata” Reyes, Mikee Cojuangco, Charice Pempengco, Arnel Pineda, and Manny Pacquiao, known all over the world for demonstrating exceptional talent and skills in their own respective fields.
- We are a people of heroes, most current of which is Efren Peñaflorida who is CNN’s Hero of the Year of 2009.
But just this Monday, our country became famous again, but in a really bad and horrible way. My friends, you might have heard or read already about the mass massacre of 57 people that happened in Maguindanao. I don’t want to post the pictures here because they were killed in the most gruesome way. It is sickening and very inhumane! I wonder how they can sleep at night, or even eat, for that matter, knowing that they did this to others.
I have maintained before that this blog will only focus on the good stuff; for news and other serious matters then readers can just open another browser window and go to political blogs and/ or other online newspapers, right? But ever since Typhoon Ondoy hit us, I realized that I don’t always have to live in a pink dreamworld. This is reality (no matter how ugly it is) we are talking about.
As I type, the person who is most suspected to be the head perpetrator has been arrested. I do hope that justice is served. I don’t know though whether I am for or against the death penalty. As Neil Gaiman said, “I believe in the death penalty if we can trust in the judicial system implicitly.” Well, I couldn’t agree more. Nothing can ever bring the victims back from the dead but the least the government can do for them is to ensure their families (and the rest of the country) that they did not die in vain.
As DJ Mo used to say, “Why are you bad, Philippines?” Why are the innocent killed, without any mercy at all, just for political gain? You may have all the power but your soul is corrupted. A life filled with hunger for power and thirst for money, who would want a life like that? Apparently there are some people who do.
These senseless killings definitely have to be stopped. I do hope the government does something about it and prove to the Filipino citizens that we did not vote for public officials and put them in power just so they can steal from the public funds.
It’s a sad day for us Filipinos. I am joining the country in this day of mourning.

Part of declaring independence from your parents surely bring a lot of perks like the freedom to stay up all night, pulling all-nighters surfing the Internet just for the heck of it, being able to shop all day and go home with your bags of goodies without thinking of how you can dodge questions and think of justifications for them, and going anywhere on a whim without worrying about any curfews. But like all other things, it has a downside to it as well. The first one is dragging your lazy backside and do your chores (unless you have a personal assistant, that is). My friends, I am now back in my apartment, having spent a good four hours attending to the big mountain that is my laundry.
After doing my chores, I crawled to my bed, Oishi’s Choco Plunge on hand, and relaxed by popping in a DVD of the first season of Drake and Josh in the player. I bought it months ago but never had the chance to watch it. If you are not familiar with it, it was produced by Nickoledeon for Nick Jr and featured Drake Bell and Jonathan Goldstein on the title roles.
image from Google
Drake is a cool guy whose Mom marries the father of Josh, who is the ultra-dork guy. Miranda Crosgrove (way before her iCarly fame) also stars as Drake’s sister. Basically she makes life hell for the two stepbrothers. I love this show! And Drake is super cute! Anyone here who knows this, or might have even watched an episode?
I have already seen some of the episodes on Nickoledeon already but the show still does not fail to make me guffaw. I think I first saw it when I was in college? And look at me now, I am already 19 23 but I still enjoy it. It brought me to a post of Andhari’s from waaaaaay back. She made this list of things she is already too old for. For those of you who watch How I Met Your Mother, this Murtaugh List was inspired by one of its episodes. I have yet to see a single episode but I’ve heard that it’s also good, I must get a DVD as well! Anyway, I commented to her post, asking if I can do my own list as well, and then I kinda forgot about it so I never got around to making mine. Thank you, Drake and Josh, for reminding me!
So, on with my list.
Murtaugh List (Things I Am Already Too Old For):
- I’m too old to believe in Santa Claus. Would you believe that I am already eleven years old when I accepted the fact that Santa Claus is really my Tita (my mom’s sister. Kinda like my aunt, only she’s not old so I am not comfortable calling her an aunt haha) Jean in disguise? I remember writing really good letters to Santa on Christmas Eve and putting them in my prettiest sock that I would then hang on the balcony (because we didn’t have a chimney). I remember wondering why Santa always leaves me money when I specifically asked for Barbie dolls!
- I’m too old to like Miley Cyrus. Really, I don't understand how tweens can like her. I mean, if I were a tween right now I know I still won’t like her. But yeah, live and let live right?
…
…
…
...
...
...
...
Okay you guys. I can’t do this. I have been concentrating on the blinking cursor for too long now, racking my brains, but off the top of my head I can’t think of anything else I am too old for.
So maybe it’s time for another list, yes?
My Un-Murtaugh List (Things I Will Never Be Too Old For):
- I will never be too old to believe in faeries. Didn’t you read and/ or watch Peter Pan? Didn’t you know that every time someone stops believing in faeries, a faerie (gasp!) dies? So repeat after me, “I do believe in faeries! I do! I do!” (I actually cried in that scene from the Jeremy Sumpter movie.)
- I will never be too old for Skittles. More than anything else, Skittles has been and will always be my happy pills. When I am sad, Skittles are my comfort food. They bring more cheer to me than a Sneakers bar with vanilla ice cream does. Whenever my Tita Jean arrives from abroad the only thing I ask for are boxes of Skittles, and she obliges me. I was depressed when they discontinued Skittles here when I was in college, and I was ecstatic when it was brought back to the market (but P10 more expensive).
Good to see that I still have a lot of stocks to tide me over.
- I will never be too old for my Grandma’s cooking. Whenever I go home to my parents’ house for my rest days my Grandma always prepares my favorite dishes. Lauya, chicken afritada, pork adobo, beef mechado, spaghetti, chicken soup, champorado (chocolate porridge), arroz caldo, sigh, my Grandma is the sweetest. My Mama is a good cook as well but she only has specialties, unlike my Grandma who cooks a wide array of good food. Likewise, I will never be too old to be taken care of by my Mom. Dole Pineapple Chunks. And Sunkist oranges. And seedless grapes. And Fuji apples. Yuuuum. These are all prepared by my Mom. She is aware of my being ehem, domestically challenged and knows I do not get all the nutrients my body needs whenever I am here in the apartment so she stuffs me full of fruits when I am at my parents’ house.
- I will never be too old to say my prayers at night before I sleep. I will also never be too old to make the sign of the cross every time I pass by a church, even when I am in a vehicle. This habit was taught to me by my father, and this is something that I wish to pass on to my future children.
- I will never be too old to say my prayers at night before I sleep. I will also never be too old to make the sign of the cross every time I pass by a church, even when I am in a vehicle. This habit was taught to me by my father, and this is something that I wish to pass on to my future children.
- I will never be too old for dress-up and simulation games. Read previous post to see my point.
- I will never be too old for bedtime stories. Thank you, Neil Gaiman, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling and Hans Christian Andersen. The worlds you created are the stuff my dreams are made of.
- I will never be too old for stuffed animals.
- I will never be too old for stuffed animals.
Kriket, my stuffed starfish given by Dane
Archuleta and Cook, stuffed octopus babies from Manila Ocean Park
Archuleta is mine, Cook is Dane's
Their names were inspired by David Cook's and Archuleta's concert here in Manila last May
I also have two big stuffed bears at home. A white bear with a red scarf is named Milkshake, the hot pink bear with the pink ribbon is named Strawberry.
- I will never be too old to need my friends in times of heartbreak. I love you my Sinister Sisters (who are Mean Girls but are really softies), my friends from KKK and JARN (who have been with me ever since I was eight years young), my bestfriend Jerome (who is the only person who can tell me stuff I need to know, even though it may hurt me), my Skittles Ed (who is my sunshine-in-a-box and who made me realize that the person who broke my heart should only be a part of my pink world and not be it), my Seventeen Sigaw sisters (who are the best online friends a girl could ever hope to meet), my friends from the workplace who are the best-people-a-girl-can-ever-wish-to-have-as-officemates-in-her-first job, special mention to Sasha, Asther, and Ruther (who have been honest when I needed them to be and who became my strength during that awful thing I experienced last year), Mich (who reminds me whenever we’re shopping that enough is enough and who has the most funny quips ever), Watcher (who stays true to himself and is one of the most genuine persons I know), Frank (who reads my blog, thank you!), Dane (who colored my world, made it dark and dreary, but looked back and colored it again, even better this time), Justin and Ian (who are probably the most intelligent and philosophical persons I know), and Mommy Terry (who is one of my truest friends and who, with her daughter Steph has one of the best Mother-Daughter relationship I have seen). Likewise I will never be too old to get guidance from people I have considered as my mentors: TL Arjay (who is always there to laud my fashion wins and rescue my pink heart from being de-pinked), TL Julius (who stayed with us, cool, calm and collected during Typhoon Ondoy. I consider him my big brother, literally and figuratively!), TL Jimmy (who has been my supervisor for more than a year now and who is serious when you need him to be), and Ms Mariel (whose posts have always inspired me and whose emails I will always treasure).
- I will never be too old to be inspired by your posts, my blogger friends. Everyone I have met in this big, big world of blogging has been a burst of color, inspiration and happy moments to me. I have said this before and I am saying it again, from the bottom of my pink, glittering heart, I thank you.
- I will never be too old for the 90s. I love the era I was born in! I am from the MTV generation and proud of it. I know a LOT of songs and artists mainly because I used to buy a lot of song magazines and read them from cover to cover! I love boybands, no matter how cheesy their songs and videos were (want to challenge me to a sing-off? Lol), I love the Spice Girls, I love Tagalized animes like Ghost Fighter (Yuyu Hakusho), Little Women II (Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott), Princess Sarah (A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett), and The Von Trapp Family Singers (Sound of Music), and I will always love Britney Spears. Check this site for more cool stuff from the 90s and take a trip down memory lane!
- I will never be too old to be affected by movies and books. I know it is perfectly acceptable to cry at The Notebook and Sex and the City, but crying while watching Pink Panther is just plain silly! XD
- I will never be too old for Barbie dolls. My Barbies - all 26 of them including my Barbie diner, loads of clothes and accessories, and a Wedding Barbie I haven’t opened yet – perished in a big fire that ravaged our neighborhood on January 1, 2001. When in Watson’s in Singapore on 2004 and all my teammates for the Discovery Travel and Adventure day for the Sunburst Youth Camp were all buying toiletries, I bought a Barbie doll. She is now displayed in my room in my parents’ house, still unopened.
- I will never be too old to believe in the power and beauty of love. And candy-flavored kisses. Because I’m cheesy like that.
- I will never be too old for lists. So I am going to update this post from time to time. Feel free to make your Murtaugh or Un-Murtaugh Lists as well!
Cheers to candies, chicken soup and a childhood that never ends!
*This is my 25th of 30 posts for the 30-Day Blog Challenge.
I don't know what took me so long to blog about this when I play this everyday. I am sure you are familiar with this, I am just not sure whether you play this game. Maybe you have gotten tired of this game already and have long since moved on to other Facebook apps. XD
So, what am I talking about? Why, Pet Society of course! Pet Society is a game developed by Playfish and launched within Facebook that enables the player to create a pet, decide its appearance and gender, give it a name, and make it do a host of activities to earn coins that can then be used to buy stuff like food, furnitures and clothes. Even though I am already 19 23, I am still a sucker for dress-up and simulation games (like Poupee Girl and The SIMS. I was also addicted to Millsberry for a few months a couple of years ago.) Ever since my friend/ officemate Frank introduced the game to me, I was hooked!
Ladies and gents, meet my pet Kiss in some of my favorite outfits on her.
This is my favorite outfit on her. :)
Oops, my pet also sports glasses!
Kiss as a Lolita
Kiss as a faery
Kiss does the cancan!
Preparing for a party with a face mask on :D
Kiss' Halloween costume! Yep, I bought the Invisibility Ring on the Cash Shop store :D
Kiss channels Marilyn Monroe
And let me share photos of her house!
one of her two gardens
this is what I dreamed my Pink Positive-themed 23rd birthday celebration to be
Wizard and witch-themed room
Kiss' kitchen
I was supposed to make this her dressing room XD
Kiss' T&B
I have another room but it is not yet fully-furnished :D
At the moment my pet is on level 31 with 101,758 paw points and Royal Pet status. Only 242 points more to go to reach level 32! :D I know all about those cheats where you automatically reach level 47 but I don't want that. For me it takes the fun out of the game. I like playing Pet Society on my own leisure anyway :) (That being said, if you happen to have cheats for unlimited coins, can you kindly share it to me? :D)
I can only infer that the reason why I love Pet Society and I keep coming back to play it (aside from my aforementioned love for dress-up and simulation games) is because this game offers something new each week. Every week, there are new items to acquire from the shops (featured on the Just Arrived! section), as well as "limited edition" items (seen on the This Week's Special section). Besidesm they are too cute! :)
I used to visit this really cool site where the site owner posts spoilers about the coming weeks' TWS and other nifty updates like new trees, fishes, etc. but the site is no longer available when I visited it last Sunday. I keep visiting everyday, hoping that the site is just undergoing maintenance but I get the same error message each time: The site you are trying to reach does not exist. Boo!
I also play Restaurant City, Cafe World, Sexy in the City and Farmtown but Pet Society is still my favorite. Wanna visit Kiss sometime? :)
What about you, what are your favorite Facebook games? Or fave computer game, for that matter? :)
*This is my 24th of 30 posts for the 30-Day Blog Challenge.
Krissy's note: I actually wrote this last night but when I checked this morning, it's still in my Drafts! I don't know why it wasn't published x_x
First of all I would like to thank everyone who commented in my previous post, as well as my friends who don't have blogs but posted their replies in my Facebook wall. I feel so loved. PMS coupled with hearing some negative words are enough to make me crawl in my bed and bawl, but I was cheered by your sweet and kind words. You guys are the best! I am sitting in front of my computer blowing pink, glittering kisses your way! From now on I promise to just focus on the positive side of blogging and take everything in stride, just like what I normally do when it comes to other aspects of my life. And PMS, go away! Enough with the negativity and let's continue with spreading the love, shall we? ♥♥
I woke up extra early today with one mission in mind: curl my hair! I was inspired by Kay's post about her Tokyo POSH'ed hair. Knowing that updating one's hairstyle is a surefire way of uplifting one's mood, I took out Allette, my trusted Vidal Sassoon curling iron (even my curling iron has a name x_x) and put it to use!
Freshly curled hair :)
I applied a little makeup as well, everything from Ellana Minerals :)
My Vidal Sassoon curling iron
I got it last February, and on sale too! From the original price of P1,559.75, I got it for P1,248! And I also got a free hairbrush and alarm clock! :D
And I wore my Betty shirt from Kamiseta for the first time! I bought this online (brand new) from Gladys but totally forgot I have it. Good thing I organized my closet at the apartment the other week!
photo taken when were already about to go home from work
Ü
A little backstory: Betty Cooper is actually one of my favorite blondes, third only to Barbie and Elle Woods. I was really shocked when news came out in May that Archie proposed to Veronica! Thankfully, this was only a dream sequence prepared by the writers of Archie comics. Now, the storyline has switched to Archie marrying Betty instead!
Going back to my curls... I am actually thinking of getting a perm, but I haven't really decided yet. I have had long straight hair for years now and I am getting a bit bored. I had my hair cut like Victoria Beckham's two years ago, as seen here:
photo taken during HSBC's Holiday Party on January 2008
but I don't want to have my hair cut this short again as it takes too long for it to grow back! Besides, long hair is more versatile as more styles can be done with it.
So, should I get a perm? Or just stick to curling my hair when I am in the mood? Using a curling iron might be damaging to the hair if it is done regularly though, plus there is a risk to burn yourself when you accidentally touch the hot rod. (I actuallly burned my right index finger this morning x_x)
More photos (because I was in the mood to ham it up for the camera):

(1st photo was in Dane's car on our way home, 2nd photo was in the apartment this morning, 3rd to 5th photos are in my room in my parents' house)
So, to perm or not to perm? :D

I was in 2nd year high school when I realized I want to be a writer. I was a geek and a conscientious student but more than any other subject it was our English classes I looked forward to. I immersed myself in the beautiful world of literature and weaved stories of my own that I wrote in my journal. I loved that my classmates and friends loved (or so they said) the stuff I wrote. (Maybe sometime I can share some of them to you guys. -Ãœ) I was rewarded by getting high grades and was even recognized as the Best in English among my graduating class. I continued that streak when I studied in college; I loved all our subjects but my favorites would have to be English Proficiency Instruction, Intensive English and Critical Writing. I got high grades in these classes and was also praised by my professors for the writings, reviews and what-have-you’s I presented to them. I still have those, compiled and tucked as some of my prized memories from school.
I may have some lapses when it comes to grammar so I make sure I reread my drafts before I publish them. Once published and there is something that does not sound right when read aloud I edit it immediately. You can say that I am my best and worst critic.
What is the point of this? I don’t know. Maybe because someone said something not so good about my blog? I don’t exactly know this specific someone and the information was just relayed to me by a friend who got told of this by this someone. I pour my heart out when I am writing my posts and this blog is an extension of myself so it was like a blow to my personality as well.
I don’t even know why I am affected when a universal cliché already exists that “we cannot please everybody.” Maybe it’s the PMS talking. And yes, I also got the red proofreader marks in some of my projects for school, and it’s fairly easy for me to brush off criticism and use it to improve myself but this is the first time someone said a criticism on my work in that way. Maybe it’s not so much as what was said as to how it was said? I guess I just need to feel sad for a while. I am sure I will be bouncing back in no time. Meet you tomorrow when I am back to my pink positive self!
*Photo stealthily taken by Ruther on 12 February 2009 in Tagaytay. While they enjoyed the scenery, I laid a mat on the grass and scribbled on my journal.

You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before, she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect - you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, bu she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there.

What could be better than receiving a package?
Why, receiving multiple packages of course! In my case, four! :D
Lovely surprises waiting to be opened
Well, they aren't actually surprises really since I have purchased them online myself, but you get my drift :D This is one of the reasons why I love earning my own money :D Thank God we have eBay.ph and Multiply sellers! I have been wanting to buy stuff from etsy, Amazon and eBay but I don't have Paypal x_x
Anyway, let me share with you my new goodies. :)
class picture :)
First is this silver pocket watch that came in that brown paper envelope. I got it from Ana's online store and she is so sweet in leaving a note on the paper :).
Silver pocket watch with long silver chain
The front features an ornate floral design
The back features a train with a moon and stars above it
Here's what it looks like when it's opened
Isn't it pretty? When I opened it I felt like Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. :)
The next package I opened is from Ida, a fellow blogger who had a beauty blog sale. Thanks so much Ida, I loved them!
I enjoyed opening this one because it was wrapped in like 6 magazine pages, plus a blue gift wrapper. She also included a sweet note :)
Everyday Minerals products
The package contains an Everyday Minerals Foptic brush and an Eyeshadow brush, both brand new. She also enclosed sample pots of Everyday Minerals Color Corrector in Peach and Blush in Back to School. Sigh, because of the many beauty bloggers I read regularly, I am becoming encouraged to buy more makeup x_x
I also bought a dress from Rhiza of The Dreamerie.
Job Interview from The Dreamerie's Street Fashion Collection
It is a simple khaki/ pale yellow dress with a structured neckline. It was love at first sight when I saw this, I just knew I had to have it. I am so excited with all of the different ways I can jazz this dress up. :)
Last on today's line up is my Belle de Jour Power Planner for 2010. I had the planners for 2007, 2008, and 2009 and I loved them; it only follows that I have next year's as well. Besides, I love its over-all chic look.
It's so pretty :)
I got it from Belle de Jour's website. She will stay in my closet for the meantime as I don't want to open the planner yet. I'm thinking I will just open it on the second half of December. Which reminds me, the year is almost closing! 2009 is the best year for me yet, so I am just so excited for all the possibilities the coming year will bring :)
And since we are on the topic of New Years, Christmas is coming soon miladies and gentlemen! One of the awesome bloggers I met online, Mel, is hosting a Christmas Blogger Exchange Gift! This is a brilliant idea, you guys! For more details, click here. Come on you guys, this is going to be fun! I myself joined and I am excited to know who will be assigned to me. :) Whoever it is, I promise to do my very best so that you will like my gift. :)
Anyone up for it? Remember, there is beauty in giving! ♥♥
